Hutton-in-the-Forest News

Hello
After a dry month the rain has proved very welcome in the gardens here at Hutton.  Our area is now under a hosepipe ban so we are pleased to have the water butts filling up again!  I just wish the weather would be very obliging and only rain at night leaving us with beautiful sunny days - perhaps a little too hopeful on my part!

We are now looking forward to Potfest on the last weekend of July.  The international ceramics festival starts on Friday 30th July at 10am closing at 5pm and runs through until Sunday 1st August.  This is the 10th year that Hutton has hosted this event and it just gets better every year.  There will be artists from Japan, Australia and the USA as well as our European neighbours.  This is an exceptional event with work of an extremely high standard and Hutton is proud to be part of it.

Over the weekend refreshments will be available from our Cloisters Tearoom with delicious homemade sandwiches and cakes and Lydia and Richard will be here with their BBQ from Brackenfell Rare Breeds.

During August we change our tour times in the House.  There is one tour a day at 12.30 and then from 1pm the House is open for free flow with guides in the rooms.  The guides are always happy to answer questions and talk about the House!  The House closes at 4pm.

Don't forget if you don't have time to visit the House and Gardens you can always pop in for a cup of coffee and some delicious cake or a pot of tea and a cream scone in our tearoom.  The Cloisters tearoom is open Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11am to 4.30pm.

We look forward to meeting you,

Leah Cameron
House Administrator
